Used for 6-35kV systems, in cable powered systems, the grounding capacitor current is relatively high. When the current exceeds the specified value, there is a possibility of arc grounding overvoltage. The purpose of using a resistor grounding method for the neutral point is to inject resistive current into the fault point, with the resistive component current being 1.05 to 1.1 times the capacitive component current. It is possible to limit the fault current moderately, improve the sensitivity of relay protection, and limit the fault point to only local minor damage. The transient overvoltage can be limited to 2.6 times the normal relative neutral point voltage to prevent arc overvoltage from damaging the main equipment. At the same time, it has a significant effect on the ferromagnetic resonance overvoltage.
